Reolink Client Відгуки

EXCEPTIONAL!

Super happy with the APP and the camera quality. Best camera ever!

Image freezes

Image freezes then I have to quit and restart app

Great system

The camera technology is better than others of a similar price adn easy to install. The customer service is amazing. I am not sure why people are saying the app (mobile devices) and client (computer) are difficult to sue. They are very simple! YOu see the live immediately from opening and it opens to your last camera or multi-image set you had open. Playback is easy and identifies when motion was detected.

New camearas cannot be added

Just bougth two more Reolink cameras and the app sees them, but is unable to lonin in the camera to show the picture as is the password is wrong. The old cameras are working OK. Very strange. It looks like something has changed in the new careras and they forgtot to update the App.

garbage

learn to code

useless

If this app can't show recorded data, it is useless. If you tried to take a look at what is going on based on an alert, it would be long over before the stream loaded. This application needs a total overhaul.

Will Not Recognize All My Cameras

The app on my Ipad works fine but the app on my MacBook is useless because it won’t recognize all my cameras. It’s see them but I can’t log into them. I don’t know how the user face works becuase there is nothing to try it on. Just read another review that suggested downloading the app from the Reolink website. I did that and it recognized my camera’s immediately. Not sure why this one is still here.

Get the Reolink App from their website

This reolink client app did not work with my NVR. Their Reolink app v8.13.1 from their website is the one that actually works.

In serious need of updating

I have two camera connected to my network. Upon launch of this app, both are detected, but it fails to log in to one of them. No matter what I do, I cannot get the app to log into that camera, even though both cameras are exactly the same model. Also, many of the settings fail to work (you change them, but no changes stick). I now see the app has not been updated for over 4 years. Garbage.

I'm not impressed

I had a camera already configured and deployed when I downloaded this app and tried to connect to my camera. the camera is alreay connected to the IOS app.

This app detects it and lets me enter the information, but won't connect to the camera. It wants me to go and get the camera so I can listen to the voice prompts from the camera.

I'm looking at the camera on my iPad. This shouldn't be necessary.

Old Software

Not sure why this software has not been upgraded to the new version available free on their website. This old version has a strange problem with image snapshots. It says it's a PNG file but it does not open in some image editors (PNG compressed TIFF?).

OLD VERSION

This app is way out of date. There is a much newer version on their website. Reolink should either update this listing on the Mac App Store or delete it.

Doesn't work at all.

Open the app, click "Scan," get a list of devices, and try connecting to one via UID or via direct IP, and it never connects. But I can log into the camera via the direct IP to the web interface using the same password.

App Store version is broken

Download it from Reolink directly, the version published here has been abandoned.

Needs some work

Some camera features not supported, video is about 10 seconds delayed - fedX driver gets to my door before the app shows him get out of the truck.

Get the app from Reolink website

This app no longer works. Use the one from the ReoLink website instead.

Form and function

Since I originally started using it in ~ 2016 I think: it has come a long ways on IOS/Android/Mac and Windows. The latest version of the app is my favorite on MacOS. For the longest time I only had two cameras, and it was a pain to use the quad view and see two empty squars any time I wanted to watch live... Which ended up being more and more as the updates came... One update eventually gave me the stacked OR SxS view for 2 cameras that I had been waiting on! - From my experience with other vendors, updates never change form, unless it's something I generally don't use... This time: I have enjoyed it accross all of my devices and haven't had much issue. There are issues from time to time, but overall easy to deal with and seems to work well compared to others I have used. I LOVE that I can watch multiple properties with the app and remove anything I don't want to see all the time (build a custom view essentially). Once I figured out the drag and drop feature, I've enjoyed arranging the views to my likeing on different size monitors of mine at various locations and desktop environments... As well as my laptops, and tablet... IOS iPhone is the only place I'm thinking of that could still use some help, but still.. .Not bat currently! I don't like that it shows all the cannnels on my IOS app (even the un-used ones). I have been recommending this setup to friends and family and just added a system to my new house... All has been well for the price and performance.

READ THIS - AN UPDATED APP IS AVAILABLE

The Reolink Client app in the MacOS app store is buggy and out of date. Reolink only releases the updated MacOS app on the downloads page of their website. It solves many of the issues I experienced with this old app store version.

Compared to Nest...

Nest has eliminated the desktop app for its so-called newer cameras. Reolink cameras blow the doors off of them. This software is rudimentary at best however. OK for live viewing but for playback the ios software works marginally better.

Update

Hey Reolink, update the app to match the upaded firmware. App woked well until I needed to update my firmware on the NVR for a new camera. Now the app will not load the NVR. Thats Bull crap!

Absoutely terrible all around

Like others have mentioned: this is a terrible app. It hasn't been updated in 4 years and very much looks like a non-native app in the first place. Could Reolink put less of an effort into a macOS client? Probably. I just purchased an Argus PT Ultra camera and was disappointed to find that even with a solar panel attached, you cannot enable pre-recording, there is no built-in web server on its own, you cannot add this camera to third party monitoring solutions. All you can do is use the mobile app. If you try and use the macOS app, and go to add the camera, it will not login using IP address and with a UID it will ask you to verify that you can hear a voice on the camera (you need to click on the wifi icon), which is like the initial setup so you wonder if you are about to reset the whole camera in set it up from scratch. Seriously??? Considering returning this camera and going with another brand all together.

4 years without upgrade on Mac

while the app is very accesible on mobile devices (iphone and android), not so much on desktops and awful on Mac. Interface is terrible, limited options to main screen, unable to add more than 1 NVR system on. The product's quality is good, why ruin it with crappy applications?

Download the Client from the Reolink website

This app seems out of date. For the best experiance download the Reolink Client straight from the Reolink website.

Terrible user interface and performance as a "security" camera

I love Reolink for their hardware technology and capability, which is hands above other budget-friendsly systems. However, both the iOS app and the desktop client for macOS are possibly the worst user interfaces I've ever used. Want to see the live view of the activity for which you just received a notification? Good luck, it will take no less than 3 minutes for the "live" video to load (if it ever does load, becuase sometimes it just will not). Want to view your recorded videos? Good luck getting them from either the iOS app or the desktop client, neither will stay connected to the network long enough for the download. I literally have to remove the SD cards to see the recordings, and guess what, once replaced the cameras have to be set up all over again FROM THE BEGINNING and the cards have to be reformatted (better make sure you save all those videos when you take that card out). Oh, you have your cameras within 15 ft of your router which gets gigabit speeds and still can't get a steady Wifi connection to view live/recorded video? Big surprise. Their customer service and hardware are great, everything else about the experience using Reolink cameras is terrible. I no longer recommend Reolink to other people as I have zero confidence in their capability to fix any of the issues. This page speaks for itself; the last update to the app was FOUR YEARS AGO?! Seriously?

I'm happy

First of all, Reolink is NOT a top tier product. So don't expect it to be flawless. BUT for the price, Reolink is absolutely phenomenal. I have had different budget systems and they have all left me incredibly dissapointed. Reolink is the firs budget system that actuall meets my expectations and then some. A lot of the bad reviews are comparable to someone buying a toyota corolla and then complaining that it's not performing like a mercedes-benz.

Just doesn't work

Desktop cient will not recognize cameras and mount them in the app. I've tried everything from manually entering IP and so on and even reseting the cameras. This app is a piece of crap.

Good Company

Good company, good app. Download the software from the original website for the mac version. Works as intended that way, atleast for me.

Settings stopped working

Recently 9probably after the latest update of the OS) the camera settings dialog does not show any data. This is quite annoyning.

Just Okay

I have this on app on my mac mini. When I go full screen it stretches the video, which I hate. I was able to fix the app on my iPhone so it would not stretch the video but I have yet to find the toggle to turn off the stretch video in the Mac version of the software/app.

email

I am unable to get e-mail sending to work. Otherwise it works well.

No longer Displays Live View

Well, what can I say other than this hasn't been updated since 2019! Why is it Reolink still sells cameras and states Mac compatible yet they don't bother to update? Used to kind of work the last couple years, but now even though I see motion icon movement, etc no picture is displayed in the live view.

No support for iMAC

I bought a new Reolink NVR36 and now the Reolink Client won't let me login to it using my new iMAC. I reached out to support and they had me login using a web base reolink non client and although I can login, it won't let me playback any videos, it's pretty much worthless. I can log in using the Reolink Client on my iPhone but for some reason it won't work off my iMAC.

Old. Will not record.

App is very old, and out of date. Will not record from camera when SD card is full AND overwrite is selected in settings. It just says "Record failed. Free storage is no enough." Misspelling of 'not' included. Sad support.

Poor Software Performance

The quality of the camera picture is very nice, and I am pleasantly surprised by the clarity, but trying to operate the app on a Macbook has been pitiful (Just upgraded to Monterey and it made no difference to the performance). It constantly fails and needs to be closed and reopened, which then typically follows with a failure every few minutes. The whole software package needs improving before anyone should buy this product with the intent of using it with a Macbook Pro. The playback feature on the mobile device is piss poor and works when it wants to. Terrible

Eh

When it works it works. Multiple software installs and uninstalls. I’ll upgrade to something else.

Can’t “Playback” content on battery cameras — can on iOS app

It is nice to be able to see my Reolink cameras on my Mac. However, I cannot view any content recorded on the battery powered cameras’ SD card. I can do this on the iOS app on my phone. I have wasted a lot of time trying to get the customer service team to have a clue about my request with the only suggestion to re-install the app on my Mac. Very disappointed. These are decent cameras but the software could be improved. Also, while I understand that a battery-powered, solar-recharged camera would have limited power avaialble, I still would like to be able to stream the cameras to my NVR at least some of the time vs. never at all.

Wanted to zoom in - Why can't I?

I've read the help information on their site, seems like I should be able to on this version, but apparently that option is not there. I can zoom using my iPhone, and on their NVR device but not on this client... seems like a basic and obvious need. Four stars as a result...

The few tiems it will record when you need it to, the playback fails.

I have two Argus 2 Solar Powered outdoor cams and one POE Dome cam. Reolink got so much right that other home cam companies have failed at in the past. From solar powered outdoor cams to POE. The software is easy to install and linking the cams is pretty simple. But the actual use for them seems like they didnt focus much on the functionality aspects of the true purpose of the camers. Setting up the Email forward is very easy as well, thumbs up for that. Instaling the cameras is very easy, great job there. If you just want to see what your dog is doing durign the day, great camera. If you really want security and to see an emergency, this is not going to meet that need. Everytime it records it's a day late and a dollar short. Other camera's Ive used before had an option that when there is motion it records video going back 5 seconds or 10 seconds prior to the motion. With these after the motion is detected it starts to record but by then the person or car is out of view or the camera just catches a couple frames of their backside. I wish there was a firmware update to give the option for selecting a timeframe to save video from 5 sec or 10 sec prior to the motion detection. That would make Reolink a 5 start system.

Cam easly to configure, perfect clear imafges.

Really easy to configura this cam with crystal clear images. I recommend it highly. I have alreadsyl boughtd two and planning go buy another.

Only Game in Town

This is pretty much the only choice for monitoring and adminstering Reolink cameras. It autodetected my local LAN PoE cameras, and it was easy enough to add non-local and battery powered cameras by UID. Image quality is decent, and features are also good. You can record to local disk which is nice, and you have access to nearly all the same features as in the iOS app. Complaints are few. 1) The app doesn’t remember window size or position between launches. 2) Non-standard UI elements make the app feel amateurish and like any of the hundreds of low-quality ports of apps from other platforms. Yuck. 3) I can’t figure out how to get to the battery monitoring screen for battery powered cameras. 4) When viewing in full screen, it blacks out all the other monitors modally, so you can’t multitask while in full screen. There’s a bug when dragging a window with live video between monitors. The video feed becomes a white screen. The only way to recover the feed you were watching is to quit & restart the app. Combined with the 1) complaint above, that means you are always N-1 feeds on a second monitor. So… it’s ok. It works for viewing, recording, and administering Reolink cameras, and it’s free. So it’s got that going for it.

Unable to record or playback videos

Looks like you can only watch the live feed with this hardclient. I'm able to playback / record on the mobil app and plugged in the NVR but in this client the options are greyed out and if you hit record it just says no space left even though there is.

Sometimes Works, Mostly Doesn

I have this software installed on my Mac Pro, my Macbook Pro, and an Andoid phone, connected to an Argus 2 camera. While sitting in front of my Mac Pro with the Macbook in my lap and the android phone in my hand, the client will connect to one sometimes, will connect to 2 sometimes, and will connect to all 3 sometimes. Most of the time, it will connect via live view, but rarely ever am I able to access playback until several hours after the phone motion detector alarm goes off. Sometimes I have to wait 24 hours for playback to be available for viewing. What good is motion detector alarm if you cannot see what the alarm was about? This the most unpredictable and unreliable software I’ve used since I abandoned Windows many years ago.

Ok for what it does

Could definitely use some basic audio settings: microphone input, speaker output. There also seems to be some typographical errors in some of the pop-up windows. I don't expect a lot from entry-level software\hardware, but at least review your spelling before publishing your app. I use these in my home and it makes me question whether or not these cameras are really secure.

Mostly Good

To answer other people's concerns about playback quality. I had this issue to before I figured it out. You have to click the "clear" button that is hidden somewhere in the lower right corner of the playback screen. The display just defaults to sucky preview until you click that. They should really change it so the display is clear all the time. The fact you're reviewing old footage should be a clue that it's important to you to see what you're reviewing.

A few more features

It would be nice to be able to have a floating cam that i can resize and put in the corner of my screen so i can watch and work at the same time. Also when setting the motion area you make us select where we don't want with a really thick pen instead of where we do want motion recorded. Other than that I like the system.

Needs a lot of work

Since the last update, constant crashes. Slow laggy performance. The playback needs alot of work as well. Why is there only one speed for playback? The IOS version for this app works WAY better than the OS version.

Channel Name

The Camera/Chammel Name box used very light gray text on a white background, nearly impossible to read. When using playback from the SD card on the camera the iPad version allows you to jump thru the recorrded segments. This applications doesn’t. It would be a nice addition. Also the playback bar along the bottom that shows time segemnts is very hard to see. A better color selection with more contraxt would be helpful

Looking Good - But...

I like the Reolink system - my battery-powered Argus2 camera's were easy to enable via my iPhone - I took one star away because I cannot link my iMac to my battery-powered Argus2 camera's FTP via Reolink Client (Mac) - according to Riolink "This applies to: All Reolink NVRs and Cameras except the battery-powered ones (my Argus2 camera's) and E1/E1 pro." - Maybe I am making a mistake somewhere - I'll contact ReoLink about this!

Needs some work

I've been using Reolink for a few months now and the client will sometimes connect to the cameras and sometimes doesn't. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling software and reboot my network and camera, but nothing works. Connecting to the camera is simply hit or miss. The cameras are great and besides the troublesome connection problem the software features are good too, but when I can't see my camera when needed the camera quality and features don't matter.
